Henry S. “Hank” Krzykowski, 90, of Manlius, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017, at his home. Born May 26, 1926, in Pompey, he was the son of the late Michael and Sophia Godlewski Krzykowski and was a graduate of Manlius High School. Hank was a US Navy veteran of WW II and the Korean War. For 21 years, he served the Syracuse Police Department as a detective with CID, later retiring as a sergeant. In 1959, the department awarded him the Francis Hendricks Medal of Valor. He was a member of DeWitt Community Church, the Syracuse PBA, the Manlius Theater Troup and sung with the DeWitt Choraliers and the Nostalgia Notes. Hank loved his family and enjoyed singing, camping and SU sports. He is survived by his wife, Katherine McDonnell Krzykowski; six children, Hank (Joanne) of GA, Patrick (Donna) of Syracuse, Judy Cookhouse of FL, George of TX, Richard of Fayetteville and Cathy (Robert) Johnson of FL; a special friend, Nancy Hough; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two sons, Steven and Robert; three brothers, Alfred, Edwin and Anthony; and two sisters, Julia and Irene. Services will be Friday at 11 am at Fairchild & Meech DeWitt Chapel, 3690 Erie Blvd East, DeWitt. Interment with Navy honors will follow in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse.
