Lena “Totsie” Piselli, 84, of Jamesville, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Francis House, with her family by her side.
Born September 25, 1932, in Jamesville, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Bernadine Lynch Ochsner and was a graduate of Jamesville High School. Mrs. Piselli worked as the Payroll Supervisor at Dey Brother’s Department Store in Syracuse. She later worked as a Teacher’s Aide for over 20 years with the Jamesville-DeWitt School District.
Mrs. Piselli was a parishioner of St. James Church, Syracuse and was a member of the Jamesville Fire Department Auxiliary.
Totsie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter. She also enjoyed her Sunday afternoons at the Turning Stone Casino.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Joseph “Joe” Piselli; her son, Kevin (Holly) Piselli; her granddaughter, Giovanna “Gigi” Piselli, all of Jamesville; two sisters-in-law, Vera and Cecila; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Joseph “Jody” Piselli in 1984; two brothers and three sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 am at St. James Church, 4845 S. Salina Street, Syracuse. Calling hours are Monday from 4-7 pm at Fairchild & Meech DeWitt Chapel, 3690 Erie Blvd East, DeWitt. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
