Margaret Sala Lorini, 88, a lifelong resident of Jamesville, died peacefully on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at her daughter’s home in South Carolina, with family by her side. She was a graduate of Powelson Business Institute and served as the Account Clerk for the City of Syracuse School District. She then worked for 35 years as an Administrative Secretary for New York State Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, and received the L.L. Huttleston Staff Award for her outstanding service to New York State Parks. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she is predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Joseph L. Lorini.
Surviving are her two children, Joseph E. Lorini and Linda Masant; her grandchildren, Leilani Fletcher (Loaie Attia) and Raymond Lorini; her great-grandchildren, Farida, Tala and Samira; her brother, John (Jennie) Sala; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 9:30 AM in Holy Cross Church, DeWitt. Interment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum of St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM at Fairchild & Meech DeWitt Chapel, 3690 Erie Blvd East, DeWitt.
