Ramon Nitzberg, 87, of East Syracuse, formerly of Fayetteville, died Sunday, July 30, 2017, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was a graduate of Syracuse University with a PhD in Electrical Engineering. He worked for General Electric for over forty years and published two books on his work in signal processing.
Ramon enjoyed travel, visiting the Syracuse Zoo with his grandchildren, playing bridge at the Manlius Senior Center and enjoying the outdoors. He had a quick, analytical mind and was always ready to offer well thought out advice in his daily emails to his friends and family.
Surviving are his daughter, Bernice (David) Weiss of Wayne, New Jersey; son, Aric (Gigi) of Houston, Texas; son, Leonard (Mary) of Chittenango; sister, Shirley Tobin of Valley Stream, New York; four grandchildren, Joel and Benjamin Weiss , Erin and Josh Nitzberg; and two great grandchildren, Augusten and Charlotte Nitzberg.
A private memorial service will be held.
Contributions may be made to the Manlius Senior Center or the Manlius Public Library, where Ramon spent many happy hours.
