Eleanor W. Darrohn, 98, residing at Menorah Park, Dewitt, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2017. Eleanor was born in Richfield Springs on February 27, 1919, and was the daughter of Dr. Kenneth and DeVieda Watson. Married in 1940, Eleanor and her husband, the late Richard Darrohn, both served in the US Army during WW II, Eleanor with the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps. They settled in Pulaski to begin their family, raise Morgan horses and owned and operated a clothing store for many years. They later retired to Florida where Eleanor enjoyed playing golf, volunteering at a local hospital and was a member of the DAR.
Eleanor is survived by sons, David (Virginia) Darrohn of Manlius and Lloyd (Susan) Darrohn of Clay; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Richard in 2008, after 66 years together, and a sister, Iona Windsor.
Memorial Services will be on Monday, November 13 at 10:00 AM at the Fairchild & Meech DeWitt Chapel, 3690 Erie Blvd East, DeWitt. Burial will follow at the Onondaga County Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.
