George G. Wilson, 92, of Jamesville, NY peacefully went to sleep on January 23, 2018 and woke up in the arms of the Lord. He was a loving husband and father who was deeply loved by his family. He was preceded by his parents, George and Jean Wilson, his beloved wife, Margaret, and his sister, Madge Wilson. He is survived by his loving daughter Patty Mondore, and his son-in-law, Robert Mondore, and several other cousins and extended family members. George was a Veteran of World War II having served as a Corporal in the US Marines, and was a proud member of the American Legion. After serving in the military he graduated from NYU and worked for 41 years as an electrical engineer at General Electric. He was happily married to Margaret for almost 60 years. He also dearly loved the Lord and was always active in church. He was one of the founding members of Eastern Hills Bible Church and served as an elder there. In recent years he has faithfully aended the Syracuse Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. Since retiring from GE he has enjoyed time with his family, including trips to the cottage he helped to build in the Thousand Islands in the 1980s. He also volunteered for several years at Upstate Medical University where he was always appreciated for his gentle and sweet nature. He will be missed by all who knew him. We love you, Dad.
The family is planning a private graveside celebration of George's life in the spring. George has always had a special place in his heart for the Rescue Mission so the family suggests that rather than flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to them in his honor at Syracuse Rescue Mission, 155 Gifford St, Syracuse, NY 13202.
