Obituary of Theodore King
Theodore “Ted” King, 94, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 20 after a brief illness. He was a native of Syracuse, the son of Raymond and Anna King. He graduated from Central High School in 1939 and enrolled in Syracuse University. After serving in Europe as the navigator of a B-24 in the 740th Squadron of the 455th Bomb Group, he completed his studies at Syracuse, graduating in 1947 with a degree in Business Administration.
He retired as President of King Storage Warehouse in 1986 and in retirement enjoyed golfing, big band and jazz music, traveling to visit his children and their families and working around his home.
He was married to Marjorie R. King who predeceased him in 1989. He was also predeceased by his brother, Robert G. King, and his sister, Jane K. Doolittle.
He is survived by his three children, Peter (Carol) King of Basalt, CO, Nancy (Norman) Collins of San Francisco, CA and John (Maren) King of Syracuse; five grandchildren, Abigail King and Kathryn King of Basalt, CO, Georgia Collins of San Francisco, CA, Peter King of Syracuse, and Andrew King of New York, NY; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private. There will be a memorial celebration for family and friends at a later date.
