Kurt Jacob, Jr., 71, of the Valley Neighborhood in Syracuse, died Tuesday morning, June 25, 2019 at home. Kurt served in the Army Reserve during the Vietnam Conflict. He graduated from East Syracuse High School in 1965. He worked as a welder, then followed his passion for cars with a career as an auto technician. He retired from Fayetteville Dodge. Kurt enjoyed antique cars and music. His favorite band, “The Causeway Giants”, included his son.
He is predeceased by parents, Kurt Jacob, Sr. and Irmgard Meinhardt Jacob of Danzig, Germany. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Margaret Lahan Jacob; son and daughter-in-law, Erik Kurt and Amanda Jacob of Pittsford; granddaughters, Laurel and Leighton; and nieces and nephews.
A calling hour will be held Saturday, June 29, at 9 AM with a Funeral Mass at 10 AM at Our Lady of Hope Church, 4845 S. Salina Street, Syracuse. Burial will follow at Onondaga Valley Cemetery.
