David E. Perry, 80, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 27, 2019 at his home, with his loving family by his side. David worked for Alpha Portland Cement for many years before retiring from General Crushed Stone in 2001.
David was an avid golfer and bowler, becoming “King of the Hill” and holding the title several times in the 70’s, even though he was legally blind in one eye. He also enjoyed camping for many years at Rainbow Shores Campsite in Pulaski.
He was predeceased by his parents, Julia Foster and Wesley Perry; his stepfather, Clifford Fink; and ten brothers and sisters.
David is survived by his wife of 61 years, Cynthia Chesneski Perry; children, Lisa (Dean) Macris of DeWitt, Laurie Perry of Syracuse, David (Merrianne) Perry of Bangor, ME, Lynette (Andy) Powell of Syracuse, Luann Perry of Liverpool and Derek Perry of Tully; sisters, Alice (Dick) Eaton of Munnsville and Millie Maline of Vernon; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Hospice of CNY and his daughter, Luann for their wonderful care and compassion and helping to make him comfortable at home.
Per David’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.
