Marie Germaine Goode, 89, of Fayetteville, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2019 at her home, with her family by her side.
Born September 12, 1929, in Massena, she was the daughter of Ernest and Clarice Arquette Danboise. She attended school in Massena and was a graduate of Vocational High School in Syracuse. She was employed by Niagara Mohawk and after raising her family, she returned to work at the Jamesville-DeWitt High School. She was a member of the Quilting Guild in Fayetteville and was a former parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, baking Christmas cookies, but her most precious time was when she was with her family.
She is survived by six children, William F. (Barb) Goode of Fayetteville, Carol (Bill) McCaffrey of Lyncourt, Kathleen Schmitt of Liverpool, Timothy J. (Diane) Goode of East Syracuse, Teresa (Larry) Isaacs of DeWitt and Sharon (Steve) Curtis of Jamesville; two sisters, Jeanette Teza and Florence Baldwin, both of Port Charlotte, FL; 15 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren who loved her as Nana.
Marie was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, William F. Goode, Sr. in 2008; a grandson, Will McCaffrey; a brother, Lionel Danboise; and a sister, Theresa Seaman.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, August 26 at 10 am at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Our Lady of Hope Mausoleum, 4100 E. Genesee Street, DeWitt. Calling hours will be Sunday, August 25 from 4-7 pm at Fairchild & Meech DeWitt Chapel, 3690 Erie Blvd East, DeWitt.

A special thank you to Dr. Scalzo of Hematology-Oncology of CNY. She was loved by everyone who met her, and she touched the lives of countless others. She will be deeply missed and she will forever be in our hearts. We love you, Mom.
