James J. Throne, 59, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Upstate University Hospital. Jimmy was an avid music lover who enjoyed listening to Neil Diamond and oldies music on his I-Pad. He loved word search puzzles and watching classic TV shows. Jimmy worked for Monarch Industries for over 30 years. He was known to his family and friends as a happy guy and quite a jokester. Jimmy was a resident of Lancaster Avenue since 1988, he enjoyed living with his roommates and has developed a strong loving relationship with several members of the staff, they were more like family than caregivers.
Jimmy’s family would like to thank the staff at Upstate Medical Center ICU 6H for the expert care he received in his short time there.
Jimmy is survived by his brother, John W. Throne of Greenville, South Carolina; sister-in-law, Angela Throne of Greenville, South Carolina; and two nieces, Mackenzie Throne of Boston, Massachusetts and Lindsey Throne of Atlanta, Georgia.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Fairchild & Meech DeWitt Chapel, with Pastor Debbie Stein officiating. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 3690 Erie Boulevard East, DeWitt.
