Deborah Ann Ruffin, 62, of Syracuse, NY, gained her wings on Tuesday, September 28, 2021. Deborah was a beautiful and loving spirit who shed light over everything and everyone that she touched. Deborah aspired to heights of achievements and also inspired those to walk the line with their heads held high. Deborah had a grand plan to succeed in what she knew she didn’t in her previous life, starting with joining Narcotics Anonymous and becoming a Salvation Army Soldier followed by graduating from Onondaga Community College and earning her associates degree in Applied Science. Her heart was into cooking. She had dreams of owning and managing her own restaurant that she would keep in the family. Deborah was truly loved by many. Deborah is survived by her mother, Virginia Maxey; her children, Tysha, Shatina, LaToya and Lawanda; her brother, Michael; her sisters, Ellen and Savasia Joan; her grand kids, Daquan, Kenya, Cayla, Bryan, Desteny, MaKenzie, Jaiheir and Courtney; and her great grandson, Dante Glass. Predeceased members of her family are Christine Ruffin and Christopher Ruffin. Services and calling hour are Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 10-11 am and service following from 11-12:30 pm at the Salvation Army Chapel, 749 S. Warren Street, Syracuse. Arrangements are with Fairchild & Meech DeWitt Chapel.
