Obituary of Kevin Kelly
Kevin Robert Kelly, of DeWitt, died Tuesday, November 19, peacefully at home with his loving wife Mary and his family by his side. A native and longtime resident of the Syracuse area, Kevin graduated from Regiopolis College, Kingston Ontario, and John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio. Kevin began working at Gallinger Real Estate in 1975 until his recent retirement from RealtyUSA. Over the nearly forty years that Kevin was an active real estate broker, he received numerous awards and distinctions for his contributions and success. Kevin never completely retired from the work he grew to love. Once you became a customer of Kevin’s, you realized you were more than that, you were his friend. Kevin was an active member of the St. Andrews Church community, and more recently St. Lucy’s Church. Kevin was a member of the Sunrise Rotary for over 30 years. Kevin took great pleasure giving back to the community he loved, volunteering with numerous charitable organizations. Kevin’s love of music enriched his life and his voice was a gift to his family and friends. Along with Mary, Kevin is survived by three children, Sarah Kelly-Culligan and her husband David Culligan of DeWitt and their daughters Meghan and Grace, Jed Kelly and his wife Mary Patricia of Westfield, New Jersey and their children Christopher and Addison, and his younger daughter, Katie Kelly of Syracuse. Kevin is also survived by his brother J. Edward Kelly, Jr., and his wife Sheila. Kevin had the blessing of many nieces and nephews, and dozens of cousins, who will all greatly miss him. Besides his parents, Kevin was predeceased by his brother, William Kelly, and his wife Alice. A Memorial Mass will be 10 am Saturday , Nov. 23, 2013, at St. Lucy’s Church, 432 Gifford St., Syracuse. Friends may call 4 to 7 pm Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at the Fairchild & Meech DeWitt Chapel, 3690 Erie Blvd. E., DeWitt. It was Kevin’s wish to donate his body to medical research.
