Tuesday, February 4, 2014Carol, Edie and Leslie, I was very sorry to see that your Mom has passed. She was a very special person and I know that you will miss her a lot. I felt lucky to be able to get to know her better through Monday Club. She always gave such interesting programs and was an inspiration to the rest of us to learn more about whatever subject she chose to share with us. When I started volunteering with Literacy Volunteers, after she had retired, I learned a lot more about how well respected she was in that group as well. She seemed such a gentle kind soul but she also had sparkle in her eyes that suggested a great love of life. She lived it well. We will miss her. Jane Perry, Weekapaug

Monday, February 3, 2014Margaret Richards name is seen and heard often here at Literacy Volunteers of Washington County. Although I did not have an opportunity to meet Margaret, I know from speaking with the former program director and some of our longer term tutors that Margaret was an amazing advocate for our learners.

Sunday, February 2, 2014I was saddened to hear of Margaret's death. We spent many happy hours at Literacy Volunteers in Westerly, and at Lucky House, eating delicious Chinese food prepared for us by the Zengs (our students). My sincerest condolences to all of her family. It hardly seems possible that we spoke just a few weeks ago. Sincerely, Sue LaMarche

Saturday, February 1, 2014I met Margaret at the English Language Institute at SU. We were both Conversation Group Leaders and soon became friends. We shared our love of learning and teaching and often exchanged teaching materials. Margaret inspired many young people with her kindness, her positive outlook on life, and her pure joy in teaching. Needless to say, she inspired me, and I am a better person for knowing her. I am very sorry for your loss. She often spoke with great pride in and love for her family. Please know that she will be in my thoughts and prayers.
