Obituary of Paul "Bill" Kelley
Paul "Bill" W. Kelley, Jr., 95, of Manlius, died Saturday, December 10, 2016 at his home after a long illness. He was born in Syracuse January 4, 1921, the son of Paul W. Kelley, Sr. and Florence (Judge) Kelley. He attended Most Holy Rosary School and was a 1942 graduate of the University of Notre Dame. He served in the Army Air Corps during WW II. After the war he joined the FBI as a Special Agent. Later, he founded Kelley Real Estate in DeWitt and held his broker’s license until age 89. He served as President of the Syracuse Board of Realtors. He was a devoted 40 year volunteer at Loretto Health and Rehab.
He was predeceased by his son, Paul W. Kelley, III; his brother, Edwin J. Kelley; and his sister, Mary Eleanor (Francis) Dougherty.
Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Sarah "Sally" O'Byrne Kelley; his daughter, Katherine K. Lewis (Richard) of Old Forge, NY; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Norma A. Kelley and Marjorie O'Byrne; and several nieces and nephews.
At the request of the deceased, there are no calling hours. Mass of Christian Burial will be said Wednesday, 10:30 am at St. Ann's Church in Manlius with burial in St Agnes Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Loretto Foundation, 1301 Nottingham Road, Jamesville, NY 13078 or Hospice of CNY, 990 Seventh North Street, Liverpool, NY 13088.
