Obituary of Molly Henderson Martin

Molly Henderson Martin, 91, of Fayetteville, a winter resident of Jupiter, Florida, and more recently of the Nottingham in Jamesville, left this world a much better place on Monday morning, May 12th and joined the hand of God. Molly was born, November 1, 1922, in Youngstown, Ohio, to the late William

R.J. and Jeannie (Johnstone) Henderson. Her family moved to Syracuse in 1931. She was a graduate of Nottingham High School and Syracuse University, and a member of Alph Chi Omega, serving as President of the Syracuse Alumnae chapter. Molly loved music, singing, playing piano, reading, bridge, golf, tennis and was an avid movie buff. Molly loved spending summers with her family at their camp, on the St. Lawrence River, where she had been going since she was a teenager. She is predeceased by her parents, and brother, William. Molly was a strong believer of volunteerism, beginning with the USO during WWII. Later she volunteered as a vision screener for elementary school children, and Meals on Wheels; was a member of the Corinthian Foundation, Century Club and Onondaga Golf and Country Club as well as Turtle Creek Golf and Country Club in Tequesta, Florida. She was a member of Park Central Church and later, Fayetteville United and Dewitt Community Church, as well as Jupiter First, in Jupiter, Florida. She was the most caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grand mother and a true and loyal friend to all who knew her. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Lloyd F. Martin and her children, Lloyd, Jr. (Carolyn), Nancy White (Allan Sustare), and Douglas (Mary); her grandchildren, Heather (John) M orrissey, Sheana (Andrew) Zombek, Keely (Adam) Brawer, Emily and Elizabeth Martin, 5 great grandchildren, Carly and Lindsay Morrissey, Andrew and Jaely Zombek, and Westley Brawer; along with her nephew, Scott W.
