Obituary of Lynne P. Kelly

Lynne P. Kelly, 66, of Baldwinsville, formerly of Syracuse, received her Angel wings at Francis House on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, with loved ones by her side.  Per Lynne’s wishes, she requested her illness be kept private.

She was born June 23, 1952, in Queens, NY, the daughter of the late Robert J. and Helen Gordon Kelly.  In 1956, the Kelly family relocated to Fayetteville.  Lynne received her education at Holy Cross School and Bishop Grimes.  Following high school, she graduated from SUNY Canton and received her Bachelor’s degree in Education from SUNY Geneseo.   She later pursued graduate studies at SUNY Oswego where she received her Master’s degree and Certificate of Advanced Studies in Educational Administration.

For many years, Lynne was a dedicated and talented Special Education teacher and later a Principal in the Syracuse City School District, where she touched many lives.  She took great pride in her role as a wish grantor with the Make-A-Wish Foundation.  Lynne was also a very accomplished knitter and enjoyed many artistic pursuits as well.  She was a member and officer of many professional organizations.

She is survived by her devoted and loving sister, Chris “Chrissy” Kelly of Fayetteville; one aunt; several cousins; and many dear friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, June 11 at 12:30 pm at Holy Cross Church, 4112 E. Genesee Street, DeWitt.  Calling hours will be Tuesday from 11-12:30 at the church, prior to the Mass.  Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.

In lieu of flowers, kindly consider the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Hospice of Central New York or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Arrangements are with Fairchild & Meech DeWitt Chapel.
