Obituary of Juliet C. Ringham

Juliet C. “Julie” Ringham, 97, formally of Fayetteville, passed peacefully away on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Loretto Cunningham, after her children and grandchildren were blessed to spend time by her side. She was born July 23, 1923, in Syracuse, NY, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mariangela Samar Medicis. Prior to her marriage, she was employed with the Navy Department in Syracuse. On June 17, 1946, at St. Peter’s Church, Syracuse, she married her sweetheart Robert E. “Bob” Ringham. They were happily married for 70 years. Bob passed away on March 24, 2017. After her marriage, she worked at Tiny Tots Child Care in Jamesville, NY as a childcare provider which she also did for many years from her home. She loved all children and was loved by all those she cared for and they called her “Aunt Julie”. Julie was a devout Catholic and a former parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Fayetteville and of Holy Cross Church in DeWitt. She was a devoted, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She was known for her beautiful selfless spirit, strength, kindness towards strangers and the elderly. All will remember her for her delicious pasta dinners that were attended by so many. She will be forever missed and always in the hearts of her six children, Cheryl McCune of Fayetteville, Cathy (Dan) Felker of Oneida, Bob (Kathe) Ringham of North Syracuse, Susan (Doug) Hague of Camillus, David (Jocelyn) Ringham of Liverpool and Mary (Joe) Telesca of Liverpool; her sister, Ninette Haar of Fayetteville; three brothers, F. Walter (Nadia) Medicis of Jamesville, Joseph (Nancy) Medicis of Syracuse and Vincent James (Ellen) Medicis of Liverpool; 14 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother and his wife, John (Esther) Medicis; her sister and her husband, Catherine (Chris) Kristoff; brother-in-law, Leon Haar; and son-in-law, Thomas McCune. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 am at Holy Cross Church, DeWitt. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5-7 pm at Fairchild & Meech DeWitt Chapel, 3690 Erie Blvd East, DeWitt. CDC and NYS Guidelines will be followed with face mask requirements and social distancing. We also ask for those attending calling hours to kindly pay their respects and exit the funeral home so others can enter due to capacity rules implemented by Onondaga County.
