Obituary of Norma May DeBottis

Norma May (Ingraham) DeBottis, 88, of Fayetteville, formerly of Jamesville, passed peacefully on January 27, 2021. She was born in Auburn, New York on May 28, 1932 to Nelson and Blanche Ingraham. She graduated from Port Byron high school 1950. On July 12, 1952, she married Anthony DeBottis, Sr. and they settled in Jamesville, where they raised seven children. Anthony was the love of her life and they were married for 68 wonderful years. Norma cherished her family and loved spending time with her children, and grandchildren. She spent many years transporting her children to their many musical and sports activities and took great pride in their achievements. She was a fabulous cook and baker, and her homemade chocolate chip cookies were requested often by the neighborhood children. After retirement and before moving to Fayetteville, Norma was very active in the Town of Onondaga Senior Center where she spent time preparing meals, playing cards, and enjoying other members’ companionship. She was predeceased by her parents; two brothers; and her loving husband, Anthony M. DeBottis, Sr. She is survived by three sons, Michael (Virginia) of Georgetown, Joseph (Mary Kay) of LaFayette, and Anthony, Jr. (Jane) of East Syracuse; four daughters, Donna Ambrose (Tom) of Rotonda West, FL, Susan DeBottis-Berger (Ron) of Cary, NC, Carol Newman of Trumansburg, and Barbara Krusko (Marc) of Scottsdale, AZ; sister, Grace Welch; 14 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center, 301 Prospect Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13203. Arrangements are with Fairchild & Meech DeWitt Chapel.
