Obituary of Paul L. Gittelson
Paul L. Gittelson, 74, of Tully, NY, passed away Thursday July 22, 2021. Paul grew up in Queens, NY and graduated from Brooklyn Tech High School. After graduation, he attended State University of New York at Binghamton where he earned a B.A. and M.A. in Physiological Psychology. In 1977 Paul began working for Bristol-Myers Squibb in East Syracuse, NY. He was the Associate Director for Worldwide Regulatory Compliance focusing on clinical and nonclinical studies. After 15 years with Bristol-Myers Squibb, Paul would continue his career by starting his own business. In 1992, he and his business partner Gary Sniffen founded BioResearch Monitors Inc. Paul and his associates traveled the world to develop their company into a successful global enterprise. Paul would lead as President of the company for 21 years before retiring in 2013. Paul was an accomplished guitarist who was passionate about all music, especially folk, and he was a member of the Syracuse Guitar League. His other interests were sailing, skiing, and nature. He loved Labrador Pond where he walked with his dogs every day. He and his family are proud supporters of Camp Kinderland and Abraham Lincoln Brigade. Paul is survived by his wife of 32 years, JoAnne; son, Logan; daughter, Meghan (Joshua); grandchildren, Zachary and Brooke; brother, Marc; and nieces, nephew, and cousins around the world. He was predeceased by his loving parents, Miriam and Lester. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Kevin Ragosta for his tireless efforts. There will be a celebration of life at a later date. Arrangements are with Fairchild & Meech DeWitt Chapel.
